Hey there, I’m Penny — and this is Gamma Goat Soap Company.
If you’re new here, welcome! If you’ve been hanging around a while, thanks for sticking with me. Either way, let me tell you a little about what we do around here.
First off — no, Gamma Goat is not about Grandma or goats that went to space (although… now I kinda wish it was). It’s named after the M561 Gama Goat — a quirky, rugged, military transport vehicle. I spent over 25 years in Army transportation & logistics, so I have a soft spot for the tough, weird, and dependable.
Now, I’m not your “average” soapmaker. I tend to push limits and occasionally break the “rules” — mostly on purpose, sometimes by accident. Missouri’s the Show-Me State, and I’m a firm believer in “don’t know if you don’t try.” Some of my best recipes came from me saying, “Huh… wonder what would happen if…?”
My mission is simple: One veteran on a mission, combating toxicity one bar at a time. That means healthier ingredients, minimal packaging, and soaps that work hard without harming you or the planet.
I’ve been in places where “shower” meant a bucket, a bottle of water, or just a baby wipe and a prayer. Trust me, after that, you really appreciate a warm shower with good pressure and a great-smelling bar of soap.
And here’s the fun part — I’ve got some exciting things coming your way. New soaps and body products are in the works, along with blog posts that might make you laugh, make you think, or teach you something you didn’t know about ingredients, history, or even military transportation (yes, that’s a thing!). Some will be serious, some will be downright weird, but all will be worth the read.
So that’s me — a Missouri veteran with a love of freedom, a stubborn streak, and a soap habit. Pull up a chair, grab a bar, and let's keep this mission rolling.
